Grandparents Raising Grandchildren
Grandparents raising their grandchildren are often described as a “hidden workforce”. They can face many challenges, including intergenerational trauma, complex family dynamics, financial strain, their own health needs, and the emotional impact of stepping into a full-time caring role during what may have been their retirement years all while trying to navigate complex systems such as health, legal and social support systems.
This can lead to significant social isolation and loneliness.
If you’re a grandparent raising grandchildren in the Livingstone area and require support, please come along to our Grandparents Cuppa on the 23rd of September at 10am in the community Centre garden.
