Stories and Sketches: an evening with Niki Foreman at Yeppoon Library

oin children’s author Niki Foreman, author of The Umbrella, for a special evening exploring the stories behind the story.

Niki will share the personal experience that inspired The Umbrella, followed by a reading of the book and a conversation about what makes a truly great picture book. We’ll look beneath the pages to explore the deeper themes within The Umbrella and discover how ideas, words and illustrations come together to create a meaningful story.

For anyone who has ever dreamed of writing a picture book, Niki will also share insights into developing an idea, finding the heart of a story and turning it into a book.
