DESCRIPTION:Apparently the question of the week is…\n\n\n\n“So… what actually IS The Village Hub?”\n\n\nAnd every time someone asks us\, we realise there’s no way to answer it in one sentence \n\n\n\nBecause yes\, there’s coffee. There’s a marketplace. There are events. There are kids everywhere. You can work here. You can shop here. You can sit here.\n\n\nBut none of that is really it.\n\n\nThe actual idea behind it is pretty simple.\n\n\nWe think our intergenerational village is disappearing.\n\n\n\nOur families live hours away. Or interstate. Or sometimes family just isn’t part of the equation.\n\n\nWe have babies and discover maternity leave can involve a truly concerning amount of time talking to someone who cannot talk back.\n\n\nThen we return to work and attempt the very normal task of being a productive member of society while someone is asking for a snack every seven minutes.\n\n\n\nWe’re all carrying different amounts on different days\, but somehow we’ve built a world where everyone is expected to manage their own little island.\n\n\nWe don’t love that.\n\n\n\nSo The Village Hub is the container for the village to happen again.\n\n\nBring your baby. Bring your laptop. Bring both.\n\n\n\nCome because you need company. Come because you have capacity to give some.\n\n\nCome with your mum. Come because your mum lives 2\,000km away. Come because you don’t have that relationship at all.\n\n\nCome to work. Come to shop. Come to an event. Come for a coffee and accidentally tell someone your entire life story.\n\n\n\nKids can be kids here. You can be Mum here without apologising for it. And you can also walk through the door without children anywhere in the vicinity because\, despite some of our own personal inability to go anywhere alone\, the village is not just for mums.\n\n\n\nWe don’t actually know everything this place will become yet.\n\n\nAnd we really like that.\n\n\nWe built the container.\n\n\nWhat happens inside it belongs to all of us.\n\n\n\nSo if you’re still wondering what The Village Hub is…\n\n\nCome have a stickybeak.\n\n\nStay five minutes. There’s a marketplace. There are events. There are kids everywhere. You can work here. You can shop here. You can sit here.\n\n\nBut none of that is really it.\n\n\nThe actual idea behind it is pretty simple.\n\n\nWe think our intergenerational village is disappearing.\n\n\n\nOur families live hours away. Or interstate. Or sometimes family just isn’t part of the equation.\n\n\nWe have babies and discover maternity leave can involve a truly concerning amount of time talking to someone who cannot talk back.\n\n\nThen we return to work and attempt the very normal task of being a productive member of society while someone is asking for a snack every seven minutes.\n\n\n\nWe’re all carrying different amounts on different days\, but somehow we’ve built a world where everyone is expected to manage their own little island.\n\n\nWe don’t love that.\n\n\n\nSo The Village Hub is the container for the village to happen again.\n\n\nBring your baby. There’s a marketplace. There are events. There are kids everywhere. You can work here. You can shop here. You can sit here.\n\n\nBut none of that is really it.\n\n\nThe actual idea behind it is pretty simple.\n\n\nWe think our intergenerational village is disappearing.\n\n\n\nOur families live hours away. Or interstate. Or sometimes family just isn’t part of the equation.\n\n\nWe have babies and discover maternity leave can involve a truly concerning amount of time talking to someone who cannot talk back.\n\n\nThen we return to work and attempt the very normal task of being a productive member of society while someone is asking for a snack every seven minutes.\n\n\n\nWe’re all carrying different amounts on different days\, but somehow we’ve built a world where everyone is expected to manage their own little island.\n\n\nWe don’t love that.\n\n\n\nSo The Village Hub is the container for the village to happen again.\n\n\nBring your baby. Bring your laptop. Bring both.\n\n\n\nCome because you need company. Come because you have capacity to give some.\n\n\nCome with your mum. Come because your mum lives 2\,000km away. Come because you don’t have that relationship at all.\n\n\nCome to work. Come to shop. Come to an event. Come for a coffee and accidentally tell someone your entire life story.\n\n\n\nKids can be kids here. You can be Mum here without apologising for it. And you can also walk through the door without children anywhere in the vicinity because\, despite some of our own personal inability to go anywhere alone\, the village is not just for mums.\n\n\n\nWe don’t actually know everything this place will become yet.\n\n\nAnd we really like that.\n\n\nWe built the container.\n\n\nWhat happens inside it belongs to all of us.\n\n\n\nSo if you’re still wondering what The Village Hub is…\n\n\nCome have a stickybeak.\n\n\nStay five minutes.
