SUMMARY:Rockhampton: Spinning Babies Workshop with Jenny
DESCRIPTION:Improve labor outcomes with a Spinning Babies® Foundational Workshop. Learn our physiological techniques that offer a complete system of birth preparation and labor ease concepts to improve labor with the baby’s position.\n\nSpinning Babies® begins with fetal rotation to reveal the lesser known physiology of birth anatomy. Your passion\, our approach. Start seeing solutions in labor progress with this new lens on childbirth.\n\nAfter this workshop you will be able to:\nFacilitate comfort in pregnancy and ease in childbirth for your clientsImprove fetal position without manipulation of the fetusIdentify issues faster; gentle actions to shorten a long labor or avoid a cesareanUse less (or no) force to resolve malposition and labor dystociaAnd much\, much more!\n\nSpinning Babies® Three PrinciplesSM\, Three BalancesSM\, and Pelvic Levels SolutionsSM offers the world’s first complete system of birth preparation and labor ease concepts using baby’s position. Physiological techniques change the effective size of the pelvis through the body’s own innate capacity to resolve or prevent labor dystocia.\nCompleting a Spinning Babies® Foundational Workshop is the prerequisite for our Spinning Babies® Integration Workshop and advanced training programs.\nWhat Makes This Workshop Special\nSpinning Babies® asks a new question\, “Where’s Baby?” One simple question leads to profound solutions. The better we understand the answer to this question the better our response to long\, painful labors\, fetal malposition (posterior\, asynclitic\, etc.) or labor dystocia. We believe baby’s position is a clue to the state of the anatomy. Working with physiology and new birth positions is how we “make room for baby.” Midwives\, nurses\, doctors frequently say they are in the Operating Room less often.\n\nWho May Attend\nWe welcome all professionals who serve people in their pregnancy and birth. Ideal for midwives\, nurses\, nurse practitioners\, doulas\, and childbirth educators. Also attended by obstetricians\, family medicine doctors\, prenatal yoga instructors\, chiropractors\, acupuncturists\, massage therapists\, perinatal case managers\, and community health workers. Recommended for people new to Spinning Babies\, as well as those who have been practicing it for years.\nCEs are available for some participants\, as noted in the Continuing Education section.\n\nSpecial NotesPlease bring a sheet\, pillow and Yoga mat (if you have one). Also please wear comfortable clothing.\nPublic Host Information:Host Name: Jenny BlythHost Email: jenny.blyth@gmail.com\n\nCancellation PolicyRefunds will be given in the form of payment if requested 45 days prior to start of workshop. Refund request less than 45 days until 10 days will forfeit 75% of registration fee. No refunds within 10 days of workshop unless extenuating circumstances approved by the trainer.\nAbout the Trainer: Jenny Blyth\nJenny Blyth is an independent birth educator\, birthworker\, bodyworker\, Associate Practitioner of Ortho-Bionomy\, and Spinning Babies® Approved Trainer\, Spinning Babies® Aware Practitioner and Trainer\, and Internal Pelvic Release Work Practitioner & Trainer. For more than 40 years she has supported hundreds of women and their families through natural birth at home. Her birthwork focuses on cultivating body awareness\, self-help skills and self-responsibility – to realise potential in birth and reduce trauma for parents\, the baby and care providers. Her bodywork practice specialises in pelvic bodywork for wellbeing\, balance and comfort. Jenny has been teaching body-oriented Birthwork workshops for over 20 years\, both in Australia and overseas.\nJenny is also project co-ordinator for Lao Birthwork\, teaching hands-on and emergency skills to health staff in remote areas of Northern Laos.\nShe lives in the Australian bush with her partner. (dba Spinning Babies®) is accredited as a provider of Nursing Continuing Professional Development by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation (ANCC).The American Academy of Family Physicians has granted Spinning Babies® Workshop 7.0 Contact hours of Elective Continuing Medical Education credits for the One-day workshop.\nMany doula and childbirth education organizations accept these contact hours; check your organization’s policies.\nAdvanced Offerings\nThe Spinning Babies® Foundational Workshop is the prerequisite for taking a Spinning Babies® Integration Workshop\, the Spinning Babies® Certified Parent Educator Training or Spinning Babies® Aware Practitioner Training. Completing a Spinning Babies® Integration Workshop qualifies you to register for the online modules and assessments that enable you to become a Spinning Babies® Certified Birth Professional.\nYou can attend a Resolving Shoulder Dystocia and Breech Basics Workshop before you have attended a Spinning Babies® Foundational Workshop\, but we recommend you attend the Spinning Babies® Foundational Workshop first.\nSee our Spinning Babies® online course catalog for a current list of virtual workshops and trainings.\nTerms of UseThis workshop does not provide a certification in Spinning Babies only a document of attendance. Participants will not be able to use the name Spinning Babies® to describe their services\, such as offering Spinning Babies\, sessions\, or saying “trained in Spinning Babies” after registering for or attending this workshop. Participants may use concepts and techniques introduced in the workshop in the participant’s practices. Further training is available for eligible participants which does lead towards a contractual relationship for listing or certification and use of Spinning Babies brand and name.\nTax ExemptionIf you are associated with an organization that is tax exempt\, you will be able to indicate this on the payment page. If someone from your organization has submitted a tax exemption form to Spinning Babies previously\, please contact your organization to use a tax exemption form code. SUMMARY:Deconstructed Still Life Painting Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Deconstructed Still Life\nA mixed media painting and collage workshop\nStill life has long been one of the most beloved traditions in painting.\nIn this playful and experimental workshop\, we’ll turn that tradition on its head.\nRather than painting a still life in the traditional way\, we’ll deconstruct it — painting each element of the composition separately before cutting\, rearranging and rebuilding the image into a vibrant mixed media artwork.\nWe’ll begin with a beautifully arranged still life display in the studio. Using paint\, markers\, pastels and anything else we can find\, you will begin with expressive mark making\, creating individual studies of the objects\, shapes and background elements on separate pieces of paper.\nOnce our painted pieces are dry\, the magic begins.\nWe’ll cut\, move\, layer and compose\, transforming our painted studies into a striking abstract still life collage. By breaking the scene apart and rebuilding it piece by piece\, you’ll discover unexpected compositions\, bold colour relationships and new ways of seeing familiar objects.\nThe process is wonderfully freeing — playful\, intuitive and surprisingly sophisticated.\nNo two artworks ever turn out the same.\nThis workshop is perfect for:\npainters wanting to loosen up their stylebeginners looking to try acrylic painting without the pressure of being perfectcollage lovers looking to expand their techniquescreatives who enjoy experimenting with colour and compositionanyone curious about exploring still life in a fresh and contemporary way\nYou’ll leave with a finished mixed media artwork and a new creative process you can continue exploring at home.\nAll materials provided.\n– Date Sunday April 26– Time: 10am– Location: Aphrodite’s Cottage\, 51 Whitman Street Yeppoon– Price: $70\nThis workshop is suitable for all skill levels\, whether you’re a beginner looking to explore a new hobby or an experienced artist seeking to expand your creative horizons. All materials will be provided\, so you can dive right into your artistic journey.

DESCRIPTION:Please take note of additional class times and creative programs for term 2!\n\nIf you are also interested in enrolling your child/teen in our new ‘Creative Fundamentals’ program alongside our Hands & Heart Sessions\, we have a special discount that can be applied at checkout. Get in touch if you have any questions.\n\nWelcome to Term 2 of Hands & Heart Kids Art! I am grateful to have the opportunity to offer this inspirational and educational container for our little budding artists.\nAim: The aim of Hands & Heart Kids Art is to provide an inclusive inspiring environment for all children to feel creatively confident. A space of exploration and curiosity without judgment where children learn new creative skills\, build resilience\, and connect with their peers\n\nOutcomes: Children will grow and develop not only in creativity but personal confidence\, they will have fun with their peers in a friendly encouraging environment.\nValues that are actively encouraged:\nEncouraging and friendly behaviorTrying new and challenging thingsCelebrating our authentic selves and each otherPatience\, tolerance\, and acceptancePracticing creative courage\n\nIn my teaching of both children and adults\, I encourage the mindset and perspective that art cannot be good or bad\, it just is. And we can learn and grow and become curious about why we do things in certain ways with our artwork but we don’t judge them. If the student enjoyed the process or learned something new then it’s a brilliant\, successful work of art.\n\nI believe in the value of this program because I was once ‘that arty kid’. Sporty kids find their tribe early and have a multitude of opportunities to learn\, as do our little musicians and dancers. Our little artists should have the same feeling of community and be given the same opportunities.\nStudents explore and learn something different most weeks with some subjects rolling over into the following week. They will receive their own visual diary at the start of each term\, they are encouraged to use their journal at home or school and bring it to class to share their work. I encourage students to share and chat about what they have created and to encourage each other in class\, fostering the mindset of appreciation and curiosity about their creations without judgment.\nAt checkout\, you can choose to pay for the term in full or pay a $40 registration fee to hold your spot then pay the remaining class price with cash on the first day or set up a recurring bank transfer throughout the term.\n\n**9 week term starting in the second week of term 2**\nSTUDIO SPROUTS: Ages 5-8TIME: Tuesdays 3:30-4:30 pmCLASS DURATION: Our 2nd term is 9 weeks in total\, starting in week 2.Start Date: Tues 28th April\, 2026\nCLASS SIZE: 12 students max CURIOUS CREATORS: Ages 9-11TIME: Thursdays 3:30-4:30 pmCLASS DURATION: Our 2nd term is 9 weeks in total\, starting in week 2.Start Date: Thurs 3oth April 2026\nCLASS SIZE: 12 students max THE MAKERS: Ages 12-17TIME: Thursdays 4:45 – 6pmCLASS DURATION: Our 2nd term is 9 weeks in total\, starting in week 2.Start Date: Thurs 30th April 2026CLASS SIZE: 12 students max \n(Age groups are flexible depending on the child.
