I am grateful to have the opportunity to offer this inspirational and educational container for our little budding artists.\nIf you are also interested in enrolling your child/teen in our new ‘Creative Fundamentals’ program (Thursdays 4.45pm) alongside our Hands & Heart Sessions\, we have a special discount that can be applied at checkout. Get in touch if you have any questions.\n\nAim: The aim of Hands & Heart Kids Art is to provide an inclusive\, inspiring environment for all children to feel creatively confident. A space of exploration and curiosity without judgment where children learn new creative skills\, build resilience\, and connect with their peers\n\nOutcomes: Children will grow and develop not only in creativity but personal confidence\, they will have fun with their peers in a friendly\, encouraging environment.\nValues that are actively encouraged:\n Encouraging and friendly behavior Trying new and challenging things Celebrating our authentic selves and each other Patience\, tolerance\, and acceptance Practicing creative courage\n\nIn my teaching of both children and adults\, I encourage the mindset and perspective that art cannot be good or bad\, it just is. And we can learn and grow and become curious about why we do things in certain ways with our artwork but we don’t judge them. If the student enjoyed the process or learned something new then it’s a brilliant\, successful work of art.\n\nI believe in the value of this program because I was once ‘that arty kid’. Sporty kids find their tribe early and have a multitude of opportunities to learn\, as do our little musicians and dancers. Our little artists should have the same feeling of community and be given the same opportunities.\n\nStudents explore and learn something different most weeks with some subjects rolling over into the following week. They will receive their own visual diary at the start of each term\, they are encouraged to use their journal at home or school and bring it to class to share their work. You will find our little red door nestled next door to the hippy garage shop.\nCOURSE DESCRIPTION: Throughout this course\, students will get to work in a wide range of mediums including graphite\, charcoal\, ink\, acrylic\, watercolor\, pastels\, clay\, collage\, and more. While exploring these various mediums students will be building a foundation in their skill level and techniques while encouraging exploration and creative confidence.\nMATERIALS: All art materials needed are supplied and included in tuition cost.\nIMPORTANT NOTE TO PARENTS: Please send a responsible guardian upstairs to collect all children under 14. Children are not to leave by themselves\, we take everyone’s safety very seriously and genuinely care about each child that attends class. On the first day of class there will be a student information form to fill out\, please come in to the art school to fill this out so we have up to date details.\nA little about the art school:\nArtist & teacher Julianne Holland has been facilitating creative classes\, workshops\, and events for 5 years through her business Aphrodite Art School. She currently teaches weekly children’s art classes\, intuitive creative workshops for people with disabilities\, regular Intro Into Art programs for adults as well as leading Hike & Paint Nature experiences and Aphrodite Expeditions (multiday art adventure tours for women). Julianne (Jules) also travels throughout Central Queensland to assist and facilitate art workshops and classes for adults and children in rural and remote communities\, working alongside local community and art groups.\nJules is now supported by a team of incredible local Artists and Teachers including Jess McKenzie and Joel Vanderluys.

DESCRIPTION:Family Drug Support operates to assist families throughout Australia to deal with a person’s alcohol and other drugs issues in a way that strengthens relationships and achieves positive outcomes. \nWe will be hosting a Family Support Meeting at Rockhampton\, Yeppoon and Online each month\, see Flyer for details. \nThese groups are for families and friends impacted by a person’s drugs and alcohol use. No cost\, or registration involved \nFDS believes families are important. They understand their family better than anyone else. If left to work through issues in isolation\, families can become exhausted and give up. However\, when supported they can become a vital force for change. For many\, a Support Group is the first time they have had the opportunity and the forum to tell their story. \nThe Group provides a safe and supportive place for people to talk openly about their journey with their drug dependant member(s). For some group members\, feeling judged\, shame and stigma have prevented them in the past for reaching out for support. \nA Group is even more powerful by having an audience who is interested\, fully engaged\, and on a similar journey. We have different environments and the children are free to roam. We encourage all adults to come and enjoy time together and maybe play along.\n\n\n\nThis playgroup is for all children\, although aimed for 1 to 8 years old.\n\n\n\nThe environments you will experience are:\n Mud kitchen with real (unplugged) fridge\, microwaves\, washing machine\, juicer etc.\n Pallet ‘ship’ fort to climb\, slide and hide in\n Dirt pit\n Loose part play\n Art table\n And more\n\nAt 11 am we will as tradition learn how to start a fire with a flint and get the fire going in the firepit. If all is well\, we will make popcorn over the fire. You are welcome to bring something too\, if you like to cook some snacks over the fire for your family.\n\n\n\nThis will be a beautiful morning out for the whole family. You are welcome to bring a picnic blanket or camping chairs to relax while the children play.\n\n\nThe price for this morning is $20 per child up to 10 yo.
